When you visit Cingjing, there is no need to rush through a checklist. The beauty of this place reveals itself when you wake up a little earlier, linger a bit longer at dusk, or stumble upon a breathtaking mountain view around an unexpected bend. Here are the places we think are worth visiting -- some near, some far, but all worthwhile.

01
Qingjing Farm
Qingjing Farm

The iconic sheep pasture and Cingjing's most famous attraction. Best visited in the morning before the crowds arrive, when the mist has yet to lift and the sheep are still grazing lazily on the hillside. If you stay at SheepVillage, it is just a short walk away.

Mt. Hehuan
Mt. Hehuan

The most accessible snow-viewing spot in Taiwan. In winter, the mountain is wrapped in a serene silence. Summer is equally rewarding -- clouds drift right at your feet. Our Room 304 faces this direction, so you can watch the sunrise over the Qilai Range from your bed.

Lushan Hot Spring

A natural carbonate spring nestled in the mountains. The water leaves your skin silky smooth and utterly relaxed. We recommend going in the late afternoon -- soak until dusk and return just in time for a peaceful Cingjing evening. Bring a change of clothes; the temperature difference is significant.

Wuling Pass

The highest point on any road in Taiwan, at 3,275 meters above sea level. Driving here feels like leaving everything behind. On a clear day, you can see mountain ranges stretching endlessly into the distance. In spring, the azaleas bloom in spectacular color.

Aowanda National Forest

One of Taiwan's most renowned maple-viewing destinations. The autumn foliage is spectacular, but visiting on a weekday is even better -- fewer crowds, more quiet, and the chance to truly immerse yourself in the forest with nothing but the sound of streams and wind.

The night sky over Cingjing is already stunningly rich with stars, and this park is one of the least light-polluted stargazing spots in the area. On a clear night, the Milky Way stretches across the sky directly overhead. Bring a warm jacket, put your phone away, and just stand still for a while.

Located right next to the 10K marker on Provincial Highway 14A, this is where we first stopped and fell in love with the place -- now it is our home. The trail is short but beautifully quiet, perfect for an easy morning stroll.
