Yunnan CuisineWhich Yunnan Restaurant Should You Pick?
Cingjing is one of the few places in Taiwan where many descendants of Yunnan-Burmese immigrants settled, bringing an authentic Yunnan food culture. The Yunnan dishes here aren't a watered-down version; they're real family flavors passed down through second and third generations. For Yunnan cuisine alone, Cingjing has several distinctive restaurants, each with a slightly different style, so it's worth trying a different one each visit.
The biggest name and the most popular, with a long line every time. Authentic Dai cuisine with a rich menu, every dish with its own story. The wait is real, but worth it.
Taiwan's first restaurant dedicated to Yunnan caravan (mabang) home-style cooking, pairing Wa Indigenous ingredients with creative preparation; the menu shifts slightly each season. Set beside Norway Forest, the atmosphere suits a proper dinner.
A restaurant themed around Yunnan caravan culture, with authentic Yunnan flavors and a plain, down-to-earth style.
Dai cuisine differs from typical Yunnan food, leaning sour and spicy with more unusual ingredient pairings. Travelers who like exploring different Indigenous food cultures will find it interesting. Clean setting, good service.

The private rooms are designed like yurts: domed, light-filled, with open views, and especially photogenic. A flavor different from chain fried chicken — a local Cingjing option for travelers who want something lighter. Drive there yourself; no shuttle available.
One of the highest-rated restaurants along Highway 14A, a perfect 5.0 on Google. The ramen is great, and the char siu rice is a standout. The restaurant is surrounded by cherry trees and faces Bi Lake, so dining here during the February cherry blossom season is one of Cingjing's most special experiences: blossoms while you eat, no need to fight for a viewing spot.
Cingjing's newest photogenic cafe, with a mountain-cabin, light-industrial design. The daytime light is lovely, ideal for a leisurely brunch or a 3pm coffee. Noticeably more refined than most cafes in Cingjing.
